And that ends "The Kindness of Strangers"! I wanted to do a story that wasn't morbid, or at least less morbid than what I usually do. Something a little lighter, more whimsical, and with a hopeful ending. I felt like the classic hitchhiker trope could lend itself to the kind of story I wanted to tell. And then for some reason "The Wizard of Oz" crept into my mind and I started adding little references to it. As if my story is a by-product of a more grounded re-imagining of that tale. The setting, tornado, the robot (Tin Man), yellow car as the key to getting where you need to go (Yellow Brick Road), Dorothy, and even the name of the scientist were meant to pay homage. I wonder if anyone picked up on it. If not, feel free to re-read it! Next week is a one-page story to celebrate Halloween before I start my longest, most ambitious comic yet. Should be a fun ride and I hope you come back to experience it with me. Thanks guys!
A Grassfed Comic is a webcomic
anthology series updated every Monday. Written, drawn and lettered by me. It has all the things I love (like animals, horror, and people getting punched in the face) and will be visually experimental so bear with me. The only
constant here will be change. Thanks for coming, and if you like it, spread the word! Enjoy!
